THE STORY

This Residence is located on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard and was custom designed for a family to accommodate their growing family. The couple also needed a Garage and Home Office/ Studio for their thriving work life. The house design incorporated unique details that accentuated ways to let in an abundance of natural light and celebrate the timber frame structure.  

The interior of the building was to employ details of the farmhouse vernacular and introduce timber framing where appropriate – to bring in a warmth and special details to the individual spaces. 

The exterior of the building was designed to balance the Shingle style while introducing a few contemporary materials and details – such as the vertical siding and the roof  brackets at the Front Entry and the Garage roof overhang.
